We have a sitter...

My normally good natured son is missing. Has anyone seen him? Whoever took him left this grouchy baby in his place that is only happy when he is naked. Seriously!
Good news is with all of this naked time he sat up all by himself and rolled over from front to back today. Of course it's the day my batteries are dead on my camera. I'll take pictures tomorrow..

My parents stopped by tonight without all of the kids. They dropped my sister off at the airport and then decided to come and see Joseph (I don't even lie to myself and pretend they are coming to see me). We had a great dinner, I seasoned pork ribs last night and Mike threw them in the oven before he left for work(fall off the bone good), sweet potato casserole and a salad.
Grandma gave Joseph a bath before she left. He was soo happy just crawling all over her and standing on her naked. I swear I'm raising a nudist!

I pulled out my swift tonight and frogged my bff socks. I think I just hate cables. I love how they look but just don't want to work on it. I re skeined the yarn(pain in the ass using a swift) and it is soaking in the sink right now getting the kinks out.
I'm working on a Curly Purly soaker and my Mom's sweater right now and have a shawl and the ribbing of a modified Bird in Hand mitten hibernating. I cast on for a Spring Beret that I wanted to raffle off but I'm just not loving it. I love cotton for dishcloths but hate it for hats. I need to rethink it.
I have two balls of the new Mini Mochi maybe I should make it into that adorable mitten pattern that just came out and raffle that instead? Hmmm?
I think I'll make the purless monkey sock for my next sock project.

*I'm gonna go knit instead of link anything..sorry!

I've been shopping

Ok so it has been forever since I posted last...Since then we have had three sick wienies, four wienies recovering from surgery, one totaled car, way to many days of working stressed out, two holidays, both of us sick(I think it was a super bug..I've never been so sick in my life), lots of sale shopping and a new camera(SQUEEEEEE).. I really need to spend sometime with the wienies since both Mike and I have been in bed for days so this is going to be short..Just thought that I would let the few people that read this know that I'm alive... So I will leave you with yarny goodness...

I found a wonderful lady on Ravelry that was selling part of her stash so that she could buy more(and the muggles think we are crazy..lol). Worked great because I love what she didn't want anymore:) Thanks Sue!
Ravelry sock yarn buys

Most of the lys in the Dallas area had X-mas sales. Mike very nicely dropped me off at the door of the Shabby Sheep in Uptown for that one(not too crazy and for some reason not many people were grabbing sock yarn:0).. After that and then a stop by our favorite cafe Lucky's we decided to go the the Knitting Nook in NRH even though their sale wasn't until the next week. The ladies running the shop were lovely and they had a great selection.
Hands down the most fun was, some how I talked my friend Cindy into getting to my house by 3AM(she had to be up by 2AM!) so that we could make it to the Woolie Ewes annual sale...Woo hooo... We got in line by 4:15 and only had about 10 people ahead of us! It was FREEZING but we toughed it out... It was sooooo crazy but we both got what we came for:) So here is my haul for December...
X-Mas Sale Shopping
So for 2008~ more fuzzy feet, lots of Bird in Hand Mittens and The CPH!

Ankle socks FO

These were knitted so quick that I didn't even post about them. The yarn was from my monkey socks yarn(400 something yards goes a long way), size 2 needles, 52co, 4 row picot edge anklet. They were a birthday present to my sister Deborah who just turned 9. She was really excited to have matching socks. She immediately put them on with her crocs and when we left she was still wearing them.. They were fun to knit once I went and bought a second set of 2s. Why they sell them is sets of 4? I need 5!

The Best Husband Ever

Happy Anniversary Mike!

So it is our second anniversary today, which means that we have been together almost 4yrs(our first date was May 28th:). Wow! So to celebrate on blogger I'm going to post the most wonderful thing Mike has ever made me.. Tada!

Is this not the best ever? So I now have a swift to go with my ball winder. I googled the directions, a trip to Home Depot, and about an hour of work and it was done(for under 20$!). I love it! We have been living in a 500sqft condo for the last 13months so anything that I can take apart and store under the bed/in a closet is a wonderful thing. Anyways, Thanks Mike!

Ps That is the yarn that is on its way to being a Monkey Sock. I finished two more repeats last night, so I think I have one and a half till I'm at the heal flap. I'm so loving this pattern. It is the fastest I have ever knitted a sock(much less on 1s and 2s). Like Cara I'm doing the ribbing and the first two repeats on 2s.(Which for some reason I'm having ladder problems. But I'm not with the 1s. Go figure, it's not bad so I hope it will come out in the wash.) Then knitting the rest with 1s(which I love). Seems to work so far:)

Sock yarn

Ok, So I posted below about the Craft bazaar that Downtown Dallas had at the Farmers Market. Mike spoiled me and told me to get whatever I want(dangerous word). So I came home with the three skeins of 400yrd sock yarn and a bit of roving(which I tried to spin with my homemade spindle..I'm working on it ok). I couldn't get the pics to come out anywhere near right so here is the link . Here is the best of the crappy photos.

The pink, yellow and white is on its way to being a Monkey (one foot down and about half of the leg portion of the other). But the other two don't have plans yet. The STR(in lemongrass:) that I won I think decided it wants to be a jaywalker. So I have at least the next two months of knitting figured out.

I won!!!

I have never won anything. Sarah from Bella Knitting was having a competition, she wanted everyone to guess when baby Measure was going to make an appearance. Well I guessed the right day. So this is what she sent me.

Way cool!!! I love it. It is green, yellow with a little tan. I kicked myself for not buying green sock yarn at the craft bazaar downtown, so she couldn't have sent me anything better. Thanks Sarah!

I will try to post more this week. I am so behind, I actually have pics of things to post but just haven't done it. We are moving this weekend so I'll try to get caught up before then.
