We have a sitter...

My normally good natured son is missing. Has anyone seen him? Whoever took him left this grouchy baby in his place that is only happy when he is naked. Seriously!
Good news is with all of this naked time he sat up all by himself and rolled over from front to back today. Of course it's the day my batteries are dead on my camera. I'll take pictures tomorrow..

My parents stopped by tonight without all of the kids. They dropped my sister off at the airport and then decided to come and see Joseph (I don't even lie to myself and pretend they are coming to see me). We had a great dinner, I seasoned pork ribs last night and Mike threw them in the oven before he left for work(fall off the bone good), sweet potato casserole and a salad.
Grandma gave Joseph a bath before she left. He was soo happy just crawling all over her and standing on her naked. I swear I'm raising a nudist!

I pulled out my swift tonight and frogged my bff socks. I think I just hate cables. I love how they look but just don't want to work on it. I re skeined the yarn(pain in the ass using a swift) and it is soaking in the sink right now getting the kinks out.
I'm working on a Curly Purly soaker and my Mom's sweater right now and have a shawl and the ribbing of a modified Bird in Hand mitten hibernating. I cast on for a Spring Beret that I wanted to raffle off but I'm just not loving it. I love cotton for dishcloths but hate it for hats. I need to rethink it.
I have two balls of the new Mini Mochi maybe I should make it into that adorable mitten pattern that just came out and raffle that instead? Hmmm?
I think I'll make the purless monkey sock for my next sock project.

*I'm gonna go knit instead of link anything..sorry!

Weekend

It took Verizon almost 10 hours total to finally figure out that the people that lived here before us had their service disconnected for non payment then restarted the internet service in the others name(then didn't disconnect that when they moved) so when we called to have it all hooked up they connected it to the non paid for box number. Screwing the system all up. The techs for Verizon were great no complaints there. I'm just so happy to have internet and DVR. Which I haven't had in over 18months. It was so nice to not have to stay up to watch Third Watch(it comes on Friday and Saturday at 3am) So YEAH!

I jumped right on this wagon. I loved knitting them and finished them really quick considering that we packed, moved, unpacked and had to do major cleaning inside and outside at the new place. This is so not my last pair:)
Drying...

Look what I found at Big Lots for 30$

These are normally 129$ Plus it totally fits our odd sizes sofa(it has a full size pull out bed instead of a queen, but it's not as small as a love seat). I found our slip covered (it's either a Crate and Barrel or a Pottery Barn) sofa at a resale shop for 125$ a year ago(and they threw in 4 metal chairs for free...I loved that place). While the cover that it came with is in great shape its cream and a pain in the ass to wash. With six dogs I need something that I can throw in the wash when ever I want to. Up until now I hadn't found a slip cover that I love and that fits. This one does. So I was so excited!

So this weekend I made homemade laundry soap (which is wonderful! It cleaned dog blankets and they smell clean!), let the babies go swimming in the little pool we bought them(and then bathed them all when they got muddy running through the backyard), weeded the front bed again, went swimming at a friends(I got the cutest swimsuit at Target...which never happens for me...made my weekend), and did all of our laundry(I LOVE LOVE LOVE having our own W/D)
Mike mowed front and back and painted the old chest that I bought on Craigslist white and then today cleaned out the storage shed behind our house that was FULL of other peoples shit. So we now have a place to put our new mower, weed eater, grill and the baby pool. So I think everything is finally done.

So this week I'm going to work on my ripple, order PUL material for mama pads(I also need to go shopping for flannel), and sew a curtain for our spare room and maybe hem the flannel blankets so that I can crochet the edging when I want.

So here is ripple #3 (I haven't taken pictures of #2 yet...I had to set it aside because I need to gift #3 soon)

And my four oldest babies after their baths...They are in the kitchen with the baby gate up because they are supposed to be having dinner.

The Best Husband Ever

Happy Anniversary Mike!

So it is our second anniversary today, which means that we have been together almost 4yrs(our first date was May 28th:). Wow! So to celebrate on blogger I'm going to post the most wonderful thing Mike has ever made me.. Tada!

Is this not the best ever? So I now have a swift to go with my ball winder. I googled the directions, a trip to Home Depot, and about an hour of work and it was done(for under 20$!). I love it! We have been living in a 500sqft condo for the last 13months so anything that I can take apart and store under the bed/in a closet is a wonderful thing. Anyways, Thanks Mike!

Ps That is the yarn that is on its way to being a Monkey Sock. I finished two more repeats last night, so I think I have one and a half till I'm at the heal flap. I'm so loving this pattern. It is the fastest I have ever knitted a sock(much less on 1s and 2s). Like Cara I'm doing the ribbing and the first two repeats on 2s.(Which for some reason I'm having ladder problems. But I'm not with the 1s. Go figure, it's not bad so I hope it will come out in the wash.) Then knitting the rest with 1s(which I love). Seems to work so far:)
